Camera Traps

Camera-trapping is a very effective way to estimate the numbers of elusive and nocturnal animals in an area, such as leopards, genets and foxes. It is also non-invasive and comparatively affordable, since it does not require the capture, handling, or immobilisation of animals.

These photographs of leopards have proved to an exceptionally useful tool since each leopard has a distinctive spot pattern by which it can be identified. Read more on The Cape Leopard Trust website.
